Nature of complaint: Illegal security business
Details of complaint: Property being run as a security company 24/7 days with live ammunition loading weapons in front garden, fleet vehicles in and out all day and night, noise levels high due to talking and shouting no consideration for children or elderly residents right next door, running a Huge Generator. Verbal abuse directed towards neighbours who complain. Traffic problems due to using a one-way street as a two-way street for bakkies for their vehicles. Road is deteriorating due to the heavy use by company vehicles.
Details of evidence given to the municipality: Complaints to the municipality regarding both the illegal building on the property and the fact that it is being used as a business premises.
Progress: A contravention notice was issued in August 2023 against the illegal building. No action was taken with regard to the unregistered business and there has been no further progress with regard to the llegal building.
